By donating towards the development and upkeep of Epona Natural Burial Ground you will be helping to ensure that the land continues to grow into a beautiful eco system with the circle of life at its heart.

There are significant costs involved in establishing a natural burial ground. We are seeking those who have a firm belief in this project and may be willing to provide some financial support at this stage. If this applies to you please do contact Jeremy by email at landtime1@gmail.com

“The deepest crises experienced by any society are those moments of change when the story becomes inadequate for meeting the survival demands of the present situation.”  Thomas Berry

“I love that Natural Burial both offers a beautiful space for our loved ones to go back to the Land, as well as where animals can continue to graze, trees grow, and people work and learn with it.

I had family who farmed on the moor in the 50’s and 60’s, at Batworthy on the Moor, when it was just the farm (it now includes a number of dwellings). The gathering and checking of stock was on horse back. Later, after the farm had to be sold, Christmas day lunch for us was usually with the family in Chagford.”

“I first worked with the Regeneration Theatre Company over thirty years ago. It became Regenco, the local not for profit that bought Epona, and through all this time it has been a quiet but important thread in my life. The possibility of this Natural burial site feels a necessary and moving resource for our community.”

“Aren’t we lucky to have the opportunity for a final resting place of such natural beauty? A place to truly return to Nature.”

Hilary Bush

Hilary was a student at Seale-Hayne College and went on to work within the agricultural industry for many years, culminating in teaching at Bicton College and working with the apprenticeship programme across the county. She is involved with the Chagford swimming pool and other local organisations and feels the Natural Burial site would be a timely and great resource for the community.
